President- LaTonja P. Ware
LaTonja is a proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University’s Class of 1994 with a BA in Business Administration, and a concentration in Finance. She is a native of the Windy City, Chicago, Illinois. She is elated to serve as the President of the Houston Chapter and she has also served as the chapter chaplain. She is a Senior Contract Administrator with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, in Houston, TX. LaTonja is a LIFE MEMBER of the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association and promotes CAU wherever and whenever she can!
Vice President- Angela Harris- Smith
Angela Harris Smith graduated from Clark College in 1987 with a BS in Accounting. Angela is a native of Meridian, Mississippi. Angela is currently serving as the Vice President of the Houston Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association. She has been an active member of the organization since 1995. She has held numerous other positions including Treasurer and Financial Secretary as well as chair of several committees and is currently Sr. Director of Settlements at Dynegy in Houston, Texas.
Secretary – Tanesia Fisher
Tanesia is graduate of the class of 1998 of Clark Atlanta University, where she earned a BS in Biology. A native of Dallas, she has been a member of the Houston Chapter since 2017. Tanesia is a registered behavior technician.
Treasurer- Shaunte’ Norris
Shaunte’ graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 1996 with a BA in Theatre Arts. Shaunte’ Norris is a native Houstonian. She has been an active member of the Houston Chapter of Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association since 2001. Shaunte’ currently serves as the chapter Treasurer, and is the immediate Past President and has served as Vice President and Financial Secretary. Shaunte’ currently serves as the National Vice President of the National Alumni Association. She is excited to be an active alum of Clark Atlanta University and continues to pledge her time, talent, and treasures to “One Exceptional University”! Shaunte is an Educational Diagnostician for Stafford Municipal School District.
Corresponding Secretary – Shannon M. Jackson
Shannon graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 1994, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a native of San Francisco, California and has resided in the city of Houston for three years. Shannon is thrilled to be an active member of the Clark Atlanta University Houston Alumni Chapter, serving as the Corresponding Secretary. Shannon loves giving back to her Alma Mater and believes CAU played a pivotal role in preparing her for the real world, and gave her the tools to be able to accomplish her career goals. She is a Middle Grade Math Teacher with the Houston Independent School District.
Financial Secretary - Richard Jackson
Richard Jackson is a graduate of Clark College, Class of 1967 and earned a BS in Physics and minored in mathematics. He is a native of Sanford, Florida. Richard has served in various offices in the Houston Chapter of Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association since the mid 1980’s. He has served as the president, financial secretary, and chaplain, just to name a few. He currently serves as the Financial Secretary. Under his presidency of the local chapter, participation in local college fairs was initiated. During his tenure, the chapter also started a reception for the incoming freshmen class each year and gave book scholarships to all freshmen that attended the reception. Richard has been a senior quality engineer in the semiconductor industry, and a program analyst in the tax industry, and now enjoys the life of retirement.
Parliamentarian - Eugenia Gordon
Eugenia Gordon is a graduate of Clark College class of 1966, and majored in Biology. She later went on to earn a degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University. She became a member of the Houston Chapter of Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association, in the 80’s and has served in various capacities including secretary and historian. Eugenia is an active participant in the alumni association and enjoys a the retirement life.
Historian - Tamera Davis
Tamera graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Tamera is a native Houstonian, and has been a member of the Houston Alumni Chapter for about 5 years. She has previously served as the recording secretary and currently holds the position of Historian. In 2016, Tamera became a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas to further her career in mental health counseling. Because of her passion for education and mental health, she currently provides counseling to the students at San Jacinto College in Houston, TX.
Chaplain- Dorsey Reese
Dorsey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration from Shorter College (now Shorter University) in 1971 and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Atlanta University (now Clark Atlanta University) in 1974. Dorsey is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. Dorsey is currently serving as the chaplain; he has served as the secretary, and parliamentarian. After working in the Oil & Gas industry, he joined the Houston Independent School District, where he worked for 21 years. Dorsey remains very active in his retirement by serving as the Legislative Committee Chair for the Katy Area Retired Educators (KARE), and serves as a Deacon at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. Dorsey is a LIFE MEMBER of the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association.
